This coming week will be a busy week for Dr. Josh Calkin.

He, along with other members of the WSC staff and area high schools, will perform on Monday in the Crazy 8 Brass Band. Calkin will then perform a recital on Tuesday. Both concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in Ramsey Theatre.

The Crazy 8 Brass Band is a New Orleans-style band. They play a blend of styles ranging from Dixieland to hip hop, and pop covers to Balkan brass music. This is a very high energy group that is sure to get you moving to the beat of the music.

Calkin’s recital will include him playing the bass trombone and euphonium. Calkin is a tubist with the Sioux City Symphony Brass and A Touch of Brass, Principal Tubist with the Sioux City Municipal Band and the Sioux land All-America Band, substitute tuba with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra and sousaphonist with the Crazy Eight Brass Band.

Both Performances are free and open to the public.
