The Wayne State College Network and Technology Services (NATS) is launching a new app and website March 11.
Pathify is the new app that WSC is launching, which is going to serve as the new myWSC. According to WSC College Relations, Pathify is an experience hub for WSC students, faculty and staff. It contains the same applications as myWSC and Campus Groups. The app is available as an app for desktop and in Apple and Google app stores.
Wayne State made the announcement that they would be launching Pathify Feb. 11. Feb. 20-March 10 will be the period of soft launching and transitioning to Pathify, and the app will fully go live on Tuesday, March 11.
All its features, including announcements and notifications and all the applications currently on the myWSC app will be available on desktop and mobile. Events calendars for sports, breaks, etc., Widgets like Canvas and Microsoft 365, student groups will replace the Campus Groups software, providing students a place to communicate with each other and role-based access, separate sections for students and faculty/staff. The benefits of Pathify compared to MyWSC are improved access to the event calendars and the ability to connect with students about clubs and activities.
“Students, faculty and staff should use the new website and portal to keep up with activities at WSC, access their email and other resources, stay current on WSC news and access the many applications and resources available to the campus community,” Jay Collier, director of college relations, said. “The new portal will also allow student clubs to and organizations greater communication options, which should enhance their extracurricular experiences.”
The new website uses the same wsc.edu URL that everyone at WSC is used to. It’s just an updated and improved version of the current Wayne State website. The new app is powered by Jadu, a British company.
“The new website will provide improved access to information and resources for Wayne State. This includes admissions, cost and aid, academics, student life, athletics and facts about WSC,” Collier said. “Other benefits include improved navigation, updated information and a new look and feel for the site.”
The new website, like the old one, is fully accessible to the public. Pathify was made specifically for the Wayne State community. Students, faculty, and staff can access the apps functions by logging in with their Wayne State credentials. “The new website and portal were created to improve the user experience of Wayne State faculty, staff, and students, as well as prospective students and the general public,” Collier said.
