Wayne State College’s Pi Gamma Mu, international honor society in social sciences, will be hosting Social Sciences Day this Thursday, April 23, at 4:00 p.m. to recognize the outstanding students in social science classes with honor society initiations and year-end awards.
According to Dr. Bertolas, a professor at Wayne State College, those who academically qualify for membership and have accepted their invitation will be initiated into one of several programs or honor societies.
They will start by recognizing programs which include sociology, criminal justice, geography, history, political science, and psychology.
They will then honor the different social sciences honoraries and clubs and the people who keep these clubs running and their members. They will also go through and recognize what they are known for and their purpose.
They will then initiate the new members into each of these social sciences honoraries and clubs. This event is a long standing tradition for social sciences here on campus.
Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to come. It is free and open to the public and is estimated to last about an hour.
A reception will follow the event, with lemonade and cake for all guests who attended.
Reach out to Dr. Bertolas via email at [email protected] with questions.
