Ideas & Conversation – What’s Your Journey Story?

Barbara Engebretsen

What can you do with an idea? Better yet, how do you turn an idea into a journey that makes a difference? Students from the Personal, Public and Global Health Honors Class have been partnering with community members and WSC Service-Learning to provide a venue for sharing ideas and engaging in conversation.

Giving students and community members the opportunity to bond and ask tough questions, Ideas & Conversations have covered a variety of topics from domestic violence to the stories of Native American and International students.

This platform is helping us become closer as campus and community members, even fueling conversations and ideas that extend beyond each event. The ultimate goal is to promote social, mental and physical health and wellbeing on campus and beyond.

This final event will ask, “What’s Your Journey Story?” Hear from WSC student Mary Helms and chemistry professor Dr. Darius Agoumba as they share how their ‘global experiences’ have shaped who they are.

Learn more about the value of our journeys, maybe share from your own or even plant seeds for a journey of your dreams!

Please join us at Gardner Auditorium on Monday Nov. 14, from 6:00-8:00, for Ideas & Conversations – What’s Your Journey Story!

Food will be served before the speakers begin at 6:30 p.m., with food and conversation continuing after the speakers.

As the world and Wayne, America emerge from more than two years of historical pandemic de-socialization, Ideas & Conversations aims to bring us together again, restoring conversation, connections and community as we hear these extraordinary journey stories.
