Wayne State College is scheduled to host Altfest, bringing 3 alternative bands to campus on Thursday, April 23rd.
Altfest will take place at 4 p.m. on April 23 in the Willow Bowl, and is a combination of efforts by both Wayne State College’s CatPAC and the student run radio, KWSC-FM, to bring alternative music to campus.
Altfest will include three separate bands, with approximately 45 minutes of performance for each band over the three hour span with short intermissions to allow bands to tear down and set up for their segments. Admission is free for everyone.
Station Manager of KWSC-FM, Tori Olguin said, “it should be a good time, last year it got moved due to weather and this year we might end up in Frey for the same reason, but there will be concessions and merch. Things like pins, shirts, popcorn will all be sold for the entire show, and there’s some really cool music.”
The bands participating in the event in order are Fears Aid, Ghost Boogie Rhoulette and Foxpelt. Ghost Boogie Roulette is performing their new single Rez Dog Cafe, which can also be found on music streaming apps like Spotify.
“Last year was cool,” Olguin said. “We got moved to lower but it was still a really awesome crowd and a good time. Plus, it got me out of my dorm room.”
