Wayne State College students considering a future in law gathered on Wednesday, March 18 for a law school panel meant to answer one big question: what is law school really like? The panel brought together WSC alumni – some now working in the legal field – to share insights about their experiences, challenges, and career paths.
For the prospective law school students who attended, the event offered a chance to get a realistic picture of what lies ahead.
Wendy Sherwood, a senior who attended the event, said she was hoping to learn more about what law school was going to be like when she graduates from WSC in the fall of 2026.
“It made me more interested, because it feels like it is doable and just because you feel like you’re behind, doesn’t mean you are,” Sherwood said.
Events like this panel aim to give students clarity as they work through such major academic and career decisions. By hearing directly from those who have already gone through the process, students can weigh the challenges and rewards of law school.
“I was hoping to learn more about what law school is going to be like next year and also how to balance law school and being able to function as a human,” Sherwood said.
The panel offered students a chance to hear beyond the admissions process and get a more realistic idea of what lies ahead for their future.
