Every year, the Grammys get music fans and the music community on their feet. This year the 68th Grammys did not disappoint as many artists and bands won big.
Let’s highlight some of the big awards of the show. Starting off strong with album of the year which was taken by no other artist than the man who’s performing in the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Bad Bunny for his album “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos.” Record of the year was taken by Kendrick Lamar and SZA for “Luther.” And after last year’s disappointment, Billie Eillish comes away with song of the year for “Wildflower.” Lola Young came away with the best pop solo performance Grammy with Lady Gaga with best pop vocal album. Best new artist was taken by Olivia Dean and so many more awards were given to deserving artists for their work.
Another rich tradition for the Grammys is the performances by various artists. Starting off with Bruno Mars and Rose performing “APT,” then Lady Gaga performing “Abracadabra,” then Bruno Mars again. Alex Warren, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and Sombr performed in the best artist medley, also joined by The Marias, Addison Rae, Katseye, and Leon Thomas. Pharell Williams, Malice and Pusha T performed “So Far Ahead” and Tyler, The Creator with “Thought I was Dead” and “Sugar on my Tongue.” Sabrina Carpenter also brought a huge performance with her song “Manchild” which had multiple Grammy nominees.
Another rich tradition of the Grammys is the time they take to honor the people in the music community who have passed. Reba McEntire, Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson started off the tradition singing “Talk About a Trailblazer/I’m Rolling Down the Road you Paved.” Following them was Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan and Slash who performed Black Sabbath’s hit “War Pigs” to tribute the late Osbourne who died back in July 2025. This performance was emotional for a lot of people due to Osbourne’s impact on music, especially the rock ‘n’ roll community. Osbourne’s wife Sharon and all three of his kids, Aimee, Kelly and Jack were also in attendance to watch the beautiful tribute to their late husband and father. On top of that, YungBlud won the grammy for best live performance for his performance of another Black Sabbath hit “Changes” which he brought Sharon Osbourne on stage with to accept the award.
Each year the Grammys awards the most deserving artist for all their hard work throughout the year. Fans are now excited about who will succeed in the 69th Grammy awards which will happen in 2027.
