Although the Lady Wildcats’ 14-game winning streak was snapped Friday night, they still won their second NSIC regular season title. This marks their fourth title in the last 5 years with head coach Chris Kielsmeier running things.

“It’s difficult to put into words because you’re not supposed to do that. Our players come here with an expectation to win championships. I’m just super proud of our players,” Kielsmeier said.

The Wildcats had already lost their third regular season game on Dec. 20th. Some can say they overcame adversity on their surge to the conference title.

“We kind of dug ourselves a hole and had to fight back throughout the course of the 2015 year. This group just rose to the occasion and I have to give them all the credit,” Kielsmeier said .

The Wildcats bounced back Saturday night, beating Upper Iowa 66 – 52. Coach disagrees that his team played well Saturday night. “We won on Saturday, but we didn’t play great,” Kielsmeier said .

The Wildcats host Bemidji State Wednesday night to start off their championship run. It’s a huge game in the conference tournament, win or go home. The two teams last played on Dec. 13, and WSC won 99 – 52.
