Burgers, Wings & Thingz is a new establishment in the lower food court at the Kanter Student Center. The new edition came about after the removal of The Good Egg. Many WSC students have taken note of the new establishment and are getting a feel of what’s to come. When it was opened to the public in August 2025, many students with their flex money decided to try out the place. Sophomore Logan Peterson was optimistic about the new establishment.
“At first, I was a little worried,” Peterson said. “Because I was wondering what they are going to get rid of, and I was hoping they didn’t get rid of the spots I liked and, well, they didn’t get rid of anything, so I was fine with it after that, but I was also wondering, like, what are they going to add and have.”
Sophomore Garett Riedel said he dined at the new establishment the first couple of days that it was open in the lower cafeteria.
“It was pretty good. They’re good burgers. They got good tots. It’s really good just all around. Burgers are good, like, not like skinny, like upper. They’re thick. Same with the chicken sandwiches, those are also really good,” Riedel said.
The Chief Innovation and Experience Officer for Fresh Ideas, Kris Lensmeyer was asked if any other establishment like Burgers, Wings & Thingz place were to come to campus soon.
“We’re looking at all of our retail outlets to see if they’re meeting the needs of the students and so there are some that we’re just evaluating from a revenue standpoint, you know, the number of student orders in there,” Lensmeyer said. “And so, we would invite any feedback, which has a QR code around the dining hall in the cat’s corner, or to let Mary, the director know, because we’re always looking for new things. But nothing in stone that I can say yet.”
