CatPAC is hosting the second annual book review and swapping event in the Conn Library on Wednesday, March 26 from 5-7 p.m.
Inspired by people’s shared love of reading and the enjoyment books provide, the event encourages participation from both dedicated and casual readers. Those who do not typically read are encouraged to stop in as well.
Students attending the event will check in before heading to tables displaying wrapped books with descriptions and key terms. They will select a book based on these details without seeing its title or cover, adding an element of surprise to their choice.
Books with QR codes must be checked out from the circulation desk, while those without QR codes can be kept by the students. After picking out a book, students can make bookmarks and their own annotation kits.
This event was made possible with support from the library.
“The WSC Conn Library has been incredibly generous in allowing us to borrow books from their collection for this event,” Liz Liston, the executive director of CatPAC, said. “We hope this collaboration inspires students to take full advantage of the library’s resources.”
Approximately 35 books have been wrapped for the event, with hope for a strong student participation. Aidan Jennings, a student planning to attend, expressed enthusiasm about participating.
“I feel like this is a really good way to get into reading, or even continue your love for reading,” Jennings said.
CatPAC hopes to continue this event, as it is a good way to bring people together. For more information stop by the Conn Library or visit the WSC website.
