Flu season is creeping up as the weather slowly changes which means it’s time for Wayne State students to get their shots to prevent illness this winter.
The Student Health Center will hold a clinic on Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Niobrara Room in the Kanter Student Center by the cafeteria.
The clinic, which is a free event, will have forms that need to be filled out on site by the students.
There are no restrictions or rules prohibiting students from participating, and school nurse Kathy Bird hopes “as many students possible should show up.”
Ahead of the event, Bird was hoping students would sign up ahead of the day.
“There are only 200 shots that we have, so they have to be early if they want a shot,” she said. “We only have three workers that are going to be there. Hopefully we can move [the students] in and out.”
Students who are allergic to any ingredients can let their nurses know ahead of time.
