Wayne residents driving past Subway might have noticed the store’s fresh coat of paint, but that is far from the only change their new leadership is bringing to the table.
Subway has recently undergone a facade upgrade and is also bringing in new subs and sides under its new owner, Jack Wolbaum. Those who have eaten Subway in the past may be excited to learn that its breakfast is coming back towards the end of the year.
The restaurant is bringing back its soup by the beginning of November, as well. Starting Oct. 3, there will also be a new bread type: ghost pepper bread. It will be baked with jalapenos, shredded cheese and, as the name suggests, ghost pepper flavoring.
There will be new sub recipes to go with the bread, such as spicy nacho chicken, spicy nacho steak and the fiery meatball sub.
That’s not all that’s new, either. For folks who prefer food on the milder side, there are still new options.
“All of these upcoming changes will be positive for students,” Angela Heesacker, the store’s manager, said. “We’re open later, till 10 p.m. We have a sub of the day option for cheaper subs. We’ve also started offering footlong dippers for $3, a great snack, and they’re a hit!”
There are also 12-inch pretzels and churros, as well as 12-inch chocolate chip cookies. There will even be a new flavor available for a limited time in October: 12-inch double chocolate peppermint cookies.
