Blue Cat Gallery Drop-in Classes: Fall 2022

Kristian Perez, News Writer

Blue Cat Gallery is offering Drop-in Classes for fall of 2022.

There will be four different fun-filled classes offered this fall.

Carolyn Albracht, Blue Cat Gallery owner, said Blue Cat offers a wide variety of different classes.

“Blue Cat offers classes as part of its mission to provide learning opportunities in the visual arts to the local community,” Albracht Said.

Pumpkin Painting will be on Oct. 22, Fused Glass Pendants will be offered Nov. 5, Macrame Planter will be Nov. 19 and Wire Wrapped Rings will be on Dec. 3.

The pumpkin painting workshop is free to everyone of all ages, the other three workshops have a fee of $12.

Blue Cat Gallery features two-month exhibits by both local and national artists. Their mission is to bring a wide variety of art to the Wayne Community. They want to promote the value of a rich artistic and cultural life.

Albracht and her husband Wayne Briner moved to Wayne in the summer of 2015. They began renovating the 1930s brick structure which is now known as The Blue Cat Gallery & Studio in the same year.

Albracht said she likes to work with watercolor and Prismacolor markers.

“More recently I have been adding other media to my paintings, such as embroidery thread, acrylic paint and collage elements, adding more visual appeal,” Albracht said.

Zaynab Kouatli, an instructor for the Blue Cat Gallery’s drop-in classes said they are incredibly excited to help out.

“As an art education major, this has been such a great opportunity to learn more about the art world and get a glimpse of teaching experience,” Kouatli said.

Kouatli said this is a great opportunity for the public to get involved within the community.

“Support a small business and learn how to make your own art pieces including a glass fused pendant, a macrame or a wire wrapped ring,” Kouatli said.

“I strongly encourage any Wildcat to stop into the Blue Cat Gallery for either a drop-in class or to experience the wonderful exhibit ‘Then and Now’ by artist Glenda Drennan,” Kouatli said.

“Check out our Fall 2022 drop-in class schedule on our website at for more imformation,” Albracht said.
