KWSC 91.9 The Cat and Student Activities Board presents a Live in Lower concert with the Twin Cities’ rock band, The Shackletons. The band consists of three brothers, Colin Campbell on lead vocals and guitar, his older brother, Cameron on bass and his younger brother Evan on drums and the miscellaneous screaming.
According to First Avenue, The Shackletons’ music is “rooted in the rich influence of the ‘Minnesota Sound.’” The band will be performing on the stage outside of the Cat’s Corner in Lower on March 31 from 7-8:30 p.m.
The band’s music is a mixture of punk rock and indie blues with a sprinkle of outlaw country. Their music videos are a visual mixture of garage band and semi-professional vibes. The band has been described as a mix of The Replacements, The Weakerthans and The Hold Steady by their distributor Vitriol.
Listeners around Wayne can listen to KWSC 91.9 for songs by The Shackletons, like The Exotic Pets, and anyone can listen to the student-ran radio station on the TuneIn app.
The concert is free for WSC students to attend and is the first in the Live in Lower series.
