WSC wrestling heading to Nationals

The 6th-seeded WSC club wrestling team, led by All American senior Jon Williams, is heading to Dalton, GA., for the NCWA National Dual.

The money to send the wrestlers comes out of their club budget. How can you help get them there?

Wrestlers will be going around giving out many fundraising opportunities. You can buy raffles to win a Godfathers super bowl Sunday party. They will be selling calendars for $15 each.

“We need 100 $50 friends” flyers are all over town. The 2013 seniors set up this fundraiser to help send these wrestlers to the national dual.

“We are sending many wrestlers to nationals. We need contributions to help pay to get them there.” Coach Greg Vander Weil said. “We dropped the UNK duals to help save money for the trip.”

“Every bit of money helps us,” Jon Williams said. “Every year we take more and more wrestlers.”

“We have been around for seven years now,” Ryan Burnison said. “We are known. We make more noise every meet. The fundraisers help us go to duals, which will help us get wrestlers to come to Wayne State.”

Registration and lodging has already been covered, but more money is needed to fly the wrestlers to Georgia.

Donations can be sent to coach Vander Weil, as anything will help.

WSC wrestling is a top program and plan to show that at the Dual.
