Forensics Team Recap

The Wayne State Forensics Team competed in its second tournament of the fall semester and was reinstated this year at the Bethany Vocal Viking Speech Tournament, hosted by Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN.
WSC’s Forensics team was crowned sweepstakes champions in the Small School Division. The award for Champion Duo Interpretation went to the team of Kirsten Fike and Brayden Almgren.
Fike came out Champion Poet with her Poetry Program.
Addie Hejl was 2nd in the Event of Dramatic Interpretation
Erin Pfeifer rounded out the team placing first in After Dinner Speaking.
This tournament was hosted in-person, many of the competitions held this year were hosted virtually. The WSC Forensics team said It was refreshing to get to perform in front of a live audience.
The team was also awarded the Michael Dreher Quality Award. This award is presented to the team who does the best they can with the number of entries presented at the tournament.
The speech team is competing again Nov. 2-6 in the Harvest Swing, hosted virtually by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
