Stay safe during the holidays

Drunk driving in Wayne, America is a huge problem. Many people do not even recognize how bad it is when they are doing it and what affect they may be having on themselves and the people around them.

I know quite a few people who have gotten DUI’s going home from the bars here in Wayne, and I can honestly say it makes me really upset.

Drunk driving not only endangers the person who is driving, but it also endangers every person they meet on their way home, or wherever they are going.

Whether it be someone who is being responsible and walking home from a fun night out at the bars, or someone else driving home to see their families.

When people decide to get behind the wheel after drinking on their night out, they are risking the lives of so many people and potentially causing a lot of pain and suffering for other people and their loved ones.

And bragging about how “hammered” you are after I just saw you get out of a car is incredibly stupid.

Working in a bar, I see many people who go out for a night of fun and then decide to drive home, and there are many resources for people to use to make their way home.

Many bartenders are aware that people like to drive home after they have been drinking, so a majority of them are more than willing to give people rides.

Another resource that is underused here in Wayne is Wildcat Wheels.

They operate 10 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

They are also offering free rides tonight since it is Halloween. Please use this resource and stay safe.
