How would you like to participate in an egg toss or in a potato race?

During the Willy Olympics, clubs competed in events like egg toss, potato race and much more.

The events that went on were bubble blowing, lifesaver pass, egg toss, water relay and water balloon race. There was an event called potato race, but because potato sacks don’t fit college students, it was cancelled.

This is the rules for the events: to chew a piece of gum for a minute, then try to blow the biggest bubble; for lifesaver pass, they needed to use a toothpick to pass the lifesaver from one side the table to the other; for Egg Toss, competitors had to throw an egg without needed to get all of the water from one bucket to the other only using a sponge; for Water Balloon Shave, participants needed to shave shaving cream off the balloon without popping it.

Willy Olympics were held in the front lawn of Berry Hall on October 2 at 4 p.m.

At any kind of Olympics, there are first, second and third place.

This year, the club that got first was Delta Sigma Pi, second Rotaract and third was the Math Club.

The prizes for first place was a $100 gift certificate and a trophy, second place got a $50 gift card and third place got a $25 gift card.For each team, there needs to be a captain, who served as the spokesperson for the team.

Each event required a number of participants. For the bubble blowing, egg toss and water balloon shave, there were two participants; for lifesaver pass, there were five people; the potato race, toilet paper race and water relay all had four participants.

The teams were not required to participate in every event.

Alex Filipowicz, RHA President, put together this years Willy Olympics. “As the president of RHA this year, I took on the position of running the Olympics,” Filipowicz said.

There are many clubs that participated this year.

“It is always a fun event during Homecoming Week. It gets really competitive.” Filipowicz said.Homecoming Court came to “support and cheer on different clubs.”

“I thought it went really well. The clubs got very involved and it efficient. We came, got the events done and crowned the winner,” Filipowicz said.
