Newly unveiled iPhones have bigger screen and high price tag
September 19, 2018
Last week, Apple unveiled their new set of iPhones for the year. The new iPhones are the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone Xr. This is also the first year that Apple unveiled a set of iPhones that did not have a home button.
The iPhone Xs’s screen is 5.8 inches tall, which is the same as last year’s iPhone X. The iPhone Xs Max will have a screen size of 6.5 inches tall, which is the biggest screen ever on an iPhone.
It could be easy to say that the iPhone Xs Max will be the iPhone to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 smartphone, which has a 6.4 inch screen.
Both of the iPhones mentioned above will be on all of the American cell phone carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular, just to name a few.
The iPhone Xs will start at $999 and the iPhone Xs Max will start at $1099. Also, for the first time ever, the iPhone’s memory can be maxed up to 512GB of storage.
Pre-orders for the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max began early Friday morning last week and these new iPhones can still be pre-ordered through Apple, Best Buy or your cell phone carrier.
Apple additionally unveiled the iPhone Xr. What makes this different than the other two iPhones unveiled is that the iPhone Xr has a 6.1 inch screen and comes in six different colors.
Users will only be able to max out the memory up to 256GB which should be plenty for the average user.
The colors that the iPhone Xr comes in are blue, white, black, yellow, coral, and red for their Product Red line of iPhones.
It starts at $749 in price and is set to be a budget-iPhone and an iPhone to get people into Face ID, which is the facial recognition scanner on newer iPhones. It has also been said online that the “r” in iPhone Xr stands for “regular.”
Consumers can pre-order the iPhone Xr on October 19th and the phone will release a week after that on October 26th. It will be available on all of the American phone carriers mentioned earlier.
Apple did show off the new Apple Watch Series 4, which has a screen that is 30-35 percent bigger than its predecessor. It can be pre-ordered through Apple right now with the release coming this Friday.
Lastly, Apple did discontinue older iPhones like the iPhone SE (the 4-inch iPhone), iPhone X from last year and the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The newest iPhones will be available at some point this fall and will likely be three of the most-wanted iPhones during this holiday season.
Be sure that if you are going to a store to pick one up in-person, that you camp out and get your spot. Not only can it be a fun experience but it is the best way to get your iPhone in a timely manner on release day.
