Council clarifies snow plow alerts, parking ordinances

The Wayne City Council approved Ordinance No. 2017-2 amending the Wayne municipal code chapter 78 article VI concerning snow plow alerts and parking on city streets.

This was done to clear up the wording of the code because the old wording was confusing, contradictory and not needed.

American Broadband representatives came to update the council on the upgrades they are making to the current services they provide to the city. Their upgrades include providing higher speeds for residential and business customers.

They plan to install fiber in some residential areas where possible and are also looking at streaming options and getting a more modern customer cable box that is integrated with internet and has DVR.

City Council members also learned tonight that shrews and hedgehogs are not a part of the rodent family when Jacob Jones was granted a special animal permit for his African Pygmy hedgehog.

City Council will meet March 7 for its next regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.
