Letter to the Editor
April 2, 2014
I am writing to inform Wayne State College students of an election irregularity that occurred during the Student Senate 2014-2015 President and Vice President elections on March 19 and 20.
A formal complaint alleging a violation of election regulations was reviewed by the Student Government committee on March 30.
It was determined by the Student Government committee that an election violation occurred that may or may not have influenced the results of the election.
Through careful deliberation and a majority vote, the Student Government committee recommended to the Student Senate that balloting be done again.
The Student Senate approved the recommendation from the Student Government committee with a majority vote.
Re-voting is scheduled to take place April 9 and 10 between the original candidates.
Polling stations will be available outside the upper cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
You may also vote in the library from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Please remember to bring your student ID when casting your ballot for the 2014-2015 President and Vice President of Student Senate.
