Nathan Mertens and Zachary Peterson will perform in Lay Theatre on Friday, starting at 7:30 p.m. This performance is hosted by the WSC Music Department.

Both of these performers are native Nebraskans. Mertens is currently serving as the Saxaphone Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin – Butler School of Music, where he is pursuing a doctorate in saxophone performance. He is currently involved with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble, Vermilion Saxophone Quartet, the Austin Saxophone Ensemble and the University of Texas Saxophone Ensemble.

Peterson is the Accompanying Services Coordinator at New York’s Eastman School of Music, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in piano accompanying and chamber music. He holds a bachelor of music degree in collaborative piano and voice performance from Hastings College.

The concert is free and open to the public.
