The Kiwanis organization is holding a pancake feed Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Wayne City Auditorium.

A pancake feed sponsored by the Kiwanis group is to be featuring a celebrity guest visitor, The Pancake Man. The event is completely free with suggested donations starting at $8 for everyone over the age of 10.

The fundraiser is being held by the Wayne Chapter of Kiwanis this month in an effort to celebrate and raise money for the group that has functioned and helped within the Wayne community for 100 years. The 100-year anniversary of the group was officially on Feb. 6.

The Kiwanis group is an organization dedicated to raising money in an effort “dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.” The organization is celebrating 100 years with a pancake feed in the Wayne City Auditorium.

The Wayne Chapter of Kiwanis has been active in the community for a long time and they have worked on multiple projects in that time including the Salvation Army Bell Ringing, the Head Start Reading Program, the Wayne Summer Reading Program, Support of Boy Scouts, Bus Stop Shelters for Local Students, Camp OK, Honor’s Banquet, Wayne Junior Golf, the Wayne Swim Team Annual Meet, the Disc Golf Course Development, the Support Food Pantry Backpack Program and Vision screening assistance at Wayne schools.

The Pancake Feed fundraiser will raise money in an effort to support a few new projects that the Wayne chapter of Kiwanis is working on along with using the event as a way to celebrate the group’s 100-year anniversary in the community.

One of the new projects, Front Porch Sponsorship, aims to provide “a safe place for kids to hang out at on Friday/Saturday nights with their friends.”

The Pancake feed also includes an appearance from Jim Kuper. Kuper is the founder of The Pancake Man. The Pancake Man is an entertainment-based catering group that has operated in the Midwest for the last 30 years. The Pancake Man uses showmanship when making their pancakes to keep the event as fun as possible for everyone involved. The group focuses on working for fundraisers, company events and other events that might require food and some fun entertainment.
