Vollyball Wildcats Rated Sixth

Coach Scott Kneifl is getting the sixth-ranked Wayne State Wildcat volleyball team ready for the upcoming 2015 season.

In his ten years at WSC, he has led the Wildcats to the NCAA Div. II Tournament nine times.

Kneifl is excited to get the year started off on a high note when they travel to Indiana this weekend for a tournament.

The Wildcats’ home attendance ranked ninth last year, averaging just shy of 660 people.

“It is really nice to play at home,” Kneifl said. “The support here is really good and we are excited to see that continue.”

The Wildcats have their first home game against the University of Sioux Falls on Sept. 17.

“The bar is set really high,” Kneifl said. “I think if we continue to get better every time we step out onto the court whether it be for practice or for a game, then we will be really tough to beat in the end.”

Kneifl believes he has a really strong group coming back this year, and also thinks that he has a good recruiting class coming in. He has high expectations, but nothing that isn’t achievable.

The Wildcats open their season on Friday against Northwood (Michigan) in the Southern Indiana Tournament.
