Wrestlers take over Rice

Rice Auditorium to hold tournament Saturday for some of nation’s best

The Wayne State College Wrestling Club will host the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Great Plains Conference National Qualifying Tournament Saturday at 10 a.m.

The tournament will take place in Rice Auditorium and will feature some of the top teams in the nation.

The Wildcats enter the tournament ranked 8th in the country.

They look to prove that ranking as they face off against also ranked, No. 9 Air Force Prep, and No. 14 ranked Rochester College.

There will be no shortage of competition at the duals, other teams also competing include: Colorado State, Iowa State, Univeristy of Colorado-Boulder, University of Missouri, University of Minnesota, Winona State, Northwest Missiouri State, and University of North Dakota.

Wrestlers that qualify will get the opportunity to go to the National meet held in Allen, Texas over spring break.
