The Wayne city council met last night for its regular meeting.

The council approved a one and six-year street improvement plan and called for action on the proposal for the Wayne Senior Center to move to in-house meals starting July 1.

Tom Jacobsen had his second hearing about vacating the end of an alley located between Main Street and North Pearl Street. He plans to build more apartments on that land.

The second reading was held for amending the snow plow alert.

The council approved a $10,185 proposal/agreement from the Nebraska Municipal Power Pool for a financial plan, cost of service and rate design study for electric rates.

The City Council will meet again for a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Wayne Senior Center, 410 Pearl Street in Wayne, for the purpose of considering future community goals. Their next regularly scheduled meeting will be Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
