A tweet (shown above) sent out by Director of College Relations Jay Collier created controversy on social media yesterday. Many commenters have found the tweet to be unprofessional and not taking student safety seriously. Other commenters did back up Collier’s tweet, which he said was “an attempt at humor after listening to people complain about having to go to classes.”
Collier told US92, “I thought given Twitter and how it can kind of be the wild west, that maybe it would just go out there and move on. But it kind of grew legs.”
A Top Ten list stemmed off the tweet quickly called “The 10 Saltiest Tweets From Wayne State College’s Ice Day 2K17” which can be found at https://www.theodysseyonline.com/saltiest-tweets-wayne-state-colleges-ice-day-2k17.
“People got kind of salty about classes being not being canceled and were being very cranky and even profane, and I let it get the best of me this morning,” Collier told the Stater.“
